You may want to try it in VMPlayer or in Virtual Box, enabling 3d acceleration for virtual machines.

I'd say that I made a responsible and well thought out decision.  Well done.  I will sent you mail about this.

Hi tech I have a very good experience with freeware application called Recuva from the guys that made Ccleaner. But if you wish to really recover any files I suggest stop using your computer or the drive on where the files were right away and run the Recuva scan from flash drive. Every time your pc writes something on the drive, there is a great chance it´ll write it over your deleted files, thus making it unrecoverable.

I hope you recover if not all then as many data as possible.
