I have already proposed this feature, I know, I have something to point to.

In current version, WinFlip does perfectly update all the window tiles once when the flip mode is started. Why not to have all the tiles be updated continuously every once in a period of time ?

WinFlip should optionally let user see ALL of the window tiles being continuously updated.

check box       Update all windows in the list

In my view, adding this feature should not be extremely hard, since the current version of WinFllip is already capable of updating all window tiles once. So, why not to update them continuously once each period of time. This feature would only strengthen WinFlip.

What I suggest is:

You have several windows open. You flip and can see all window tiles being updated (not only the foremost), e.g.:

window 1 - tokyodownstairs.com loading ...
window 2 - stylekings.de loading ...
window 3 - a google search progressing ...
window 4 - a bbc article loading ...
window 5 - an archivator working with progress seen ...

when you press to flip, none of the windows has accomplished the task; in flip mode with these window's 3D tiles, you will be able to see ALL these 5 windows's progresses.

Being in flip mode, it would be more convenient to know window whoose task has been already accomplished and which user wishes to select.

It would be also nice to see window preview tiles continuously being REFRESHED. Would give a cooler 3D feeling with this feature.

These feature is present in Windows Vista, and it looks nice. It looks it could be implemented in WinFlip too.

As to being in flip mode for a long time ( I have been with Windows Vista Flip 3D and TopDesk ), you may just wish to get a great 3D feeling during a minute or two.

It is not bad on a dial-up connection to be seeing a webpage loading in flip mode, and being tired of work you may wish to sit back and relax with this feature as well.

I suggest this feature should be an option.

Currently, WinFlip is capable of updating ALL once when the flip starts. So, why not OPTIONALLY CALL THE PROCEDURE TO REFRESH THE PREVIEWS ONCE IN A WHILE ?

This feauture is NOT MY idea and can be found in Vista and TopDesk.

Would be great for Expose-like TOO.

Now everybody knows what I am trying to suggest here, I hope.  Wink

Hi roman Smiley

Okey, I'll implement the function you requested.

check box       Update all windows in the list

As you said, Current version of WinFlip updates all windows just once when flipping.
But sometimes it's not enough. You are right.

Continuous refreshing of flipped window tiles should be implemented not only for enabling user to be able to see all windows' progress, but to provide better drawing of the window tiles as well, redrawing them correctly if they were not drawn properly once the flip started.

For example, the image below shows the situation when a browser's window tile failed to be drawn correctly, black page inside, which would not have to be flipped to become foremost in order to be redrawn correctly in case WinFlip supported continuous refreshing flipped windows.

I think that for now a single checkbox would be enough :

check box       Update all windows in the list

Later (if ever) another option to specify the refreshing period could be built:

- every 0.1 seconds
- 0.33
- 0.66
- 1 sec
- 2 sec
- 10 sec

So, for now:

check box       Update all windows in the list

probably with 0.33 sec interval.

Reasons to implement this feature:

1. Better (re-)drawing of flipped window tiles
2. Cooler Flip 3D efect letting user see all windows' progress
3. To gain advantage of the original Vista Flip 3D and TopDesk-what WinFlip lacks
4. Relative ease of implementation since WnFlip already has the procedure to capture window images
