Then give us more data, please:

1. When and how often does this happen, does it happen on system's startup only ?
2. Your video card, drivers, directx version ?

See, I asked you those for a reason, you didn't answer:

1. When and how often does this happen, does it happen on system's startup only ?
2. Your video card and its driver version.

Direct X august 2006 is very good. Your video card (which you didn't tell) can be the cause. Of course this is your right whether to reveal your hardware or not. Possible reasons for "Direct3D failed":

1. WinFlip uses the Hardware Acceleration function which must be present in the video card. This may not be perfect but this is the way WinFlip was programmed.

2. Sometimes WinFlip will fail to initialize Direct3D while another application is already using Direct3D (e.g. pc game).

3. If WinFlip is missing any of its files that need be all collected insde one's folder.

4. Old driver version can be the cause too.

It's hard eough to figure out what your sytem is, what you have installed in it, how you start WinFlip, this is sure your right to keep it private.

I mean the video card, integrated or not, PCI, PCI-Ex 16x, or AGP.

Most likely ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M is the problem as it has been reported to have DirectX problems. Start > Run > dxdiag > see the "screen tab" if these functions are enabled:

- DirectDraw acceleration
- Direct3D acceleration
- AGP textures acceleration

Save and submit you dxdiag report. Got it ?

Hi powerpointpro Smiley

Welcome to WinFlip MessageBoard!

May be WinFlip doesn't work on your pc's environment.
Please try other Flip3D clone like 'TopDesk', 'Shock Aero 3D' or something like that.

Cheers,
Koji

You other guys, if this shows up to, extract the winflip compressed folder to the applied folder.
Then click the winflip in the folder.
It should work.

P.S. Ignore this topic.

We are glad you figured this out and shared what it was. This issue had been mentioned in The Common Bugs thread:

Quote
WinFlip does not start and shows the error message "Alphabet file is missing". To avoid this error message, extract WFlip.zip to a folder of your choice and then make sure you double click on the file "WinFlip.exe" which is located inside the folder to which you have extracted the archive. Do not launch "WinFlip.exe" directly from archivator !

as well as there.

Good luck.
