Hi people I wonder if there is anyone who could help me with my Linux distro. I installed Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10 on my laptop using wubi. Now, I can´t make my Ethernet and Wifi work. I think it is because it loads a bad module for my ethernet. However i dunno how to load proper module. I need a simple method because I don´t know much yet about Linux.

Couldn't tell you much, have you tried Linux on the machine with the same ethernet or wireless cards before now?

I can't help, but I think if the ubuntu forums could ?

Searching for the issue, one can find that many people have this same problem, but looks like no clear workaround that fits all.

I would:

1. Ask ubuntu forums and yahoo answers
2. Contact your manufacturer for help

Oh I was able to resolve the issue myself Smiley It was indeed bad module. I found a little bit complicated manual how to work with modules, so my ethernet was working just fine and then I found the drivers for my WiFi were alread included in the proprietary hardware list. So now everything is working just fine Smiley

Anyway thanks guys for help. Wink

I decided to share some news about my experience with Linux. After a few minor errors I´ve been able to set up a KDE 4.2.0 on my desktop. Running smoothly with Compiz effects it is now a definitely alternative to Windows Vista. Knowing KDE developers it should get more stable and faster over time. I haven´t experienced a single crash yet. When I don´t play games I use Linux most of the time. I should post some screenshots when I get home Cheesy
