hi,
I know that winflip shows true transparency skins. So i was thinking if you guys can let winflip allow windowblinds skins to show aswell, because i use windowsblinds and when ever i flip windows winflip doesn't show me the windowblind skin it just shows me a black area!

Hi Tarame Smiley

Thank you for your suggestion.

I'm sorry it's pretty hard to have done.
I checked Windowsblinds before. And I found that Windowsblinds uses much complicated mechanism more than TrueTransparency.
I think I can't implement the code which supports WindowsBlinds.

Cheers,

Hi Tarame,

Koji will sure give you his reply, but look at it this way: why do other task switchers that use PrintWindow API (e.g. TaskSwitchXP, VisualTaskTips, TopDesk, etc.) not fully reflect WindowBlinds' skins ?

Vista uses much more advanced and complex DWM that in turn deploys both vga ram as well as shared RAM, which is why Vista's Aero Flip 3D shows realtime everything, aero borders, virtual pcs, opera widgets, movies, etc., even splash screens with graphics.

PrintWindow was not designed to store as much as Vista's DWM mechanism does, PrintWindow was not designed to capture advanced graphics such as WindowBlinds skins. As many other switchers, WinFlip generates previews via PrintWindow, and this is why it is difficult to add support for WindowBlinds.

=== === ===

It may be worthy doing a transparency trick, by adding an option to draw aero borders unconditionally of Windowblinds or TrueTransparency, but then there would be need to reserve a few different colors.

You may want to look at Vista's flip and perhaps realize there's not too much value in the flipped transparency.

But let's hope ...

Hi Tarame Smiley

Roman gave you almost perfect answer already.

The "PrintWindow" API doesn't get third party software's skin image(TrueTransparency, WindowsBlinds, etc....)
So, WinFlip make skin image same as third party software does and put it on the screenshot image. Therefore I have to know how does the third party software makes skin image. It's pretty hard way.
I checked WindowsBlinds's skin image mechanism before. I decided I don't implement it.
