Hi,

I would like to introduce this great freeware security project COMODO.

If you have not heard of it so far, then you should check these freeware antivirus, firewall, and other tools with free lifetime updates :

Free Comodo Products

Comodo Internet Security

Unlike the majority of freeware security programs, Comodo still offers its full featured products for free.

I have to say, I used Comodo Free Firewall for the best part of a year and it's nowhere near as easy-to-use and full as ZoneAlarm (although it does not include a file monitor).

I myself have used Comodo Firewall with my commercial NOD32 antivirus for almost a year, and to me this combination does work very well. I'd agree Comodo Firewall has at first glance complicated settings, but they allow fine tuning, just takes time to become familiar. Now they've finally come up with a new brand, Comodo Internet Security, to which they've put much effort.

Anyway, a thing to keep in mind is that any security to a potential threat is much like a lock to a professional thief.

I think I forgot to thank Amos for sharing his experience. Cool Others don't hesitate to share your thoughts on PC security.

I well remember having just bought my PC and being without a clue trying various security programs. By now I have tried a few of them. I don't agitate for Comodo, but I find that it has good points, why I introduced it here.

Feel free to express your opinion about this or another brand, if you like it or not, and on what system(s) you use you security product(s).
We may all benefit from sharing our ideas.

Thank you all in advance.   Smiley

Hi people. I have been using Comodo for a while too, but I can´t say I would recommend firewall to everybody. I know that the security is important, but sometimes improperly set firewall can make more problems that it solve. I remember my mum when a firewall popped a message she either allowed everything or denied everything not even reading what the message had to say. My friend had the problems when he denied everything and even made rules for it so not even integral parts of windows wasn´t working. :_D

Anyway comodo is a very good firewall and apart from a occasionally high cpu usage during extensive traffic it is a very solid firewall (Maybe the high cpu usage was fixed in thenewer releases).
