I just downloaded and set up Winflip. Works very well except for one problem. I cannot add anything to the exclusion list. I click on a window in the list of open windows and than click "add to list" and nothing happens. Nothing is added to the exclusions. I am using XP SP2. I am using Winflip 0.50

The GUI of the options seems to look a little weird. It is cut off in areas on the right side.

Hello Anthony A,

the problem you describe looks unusual. If the problem persists, could you :

1. Make a screenshot of WinFlip Options (Other tab) as it appears on your machine. Upload you screenshot to a photobucket or imagesack account, and post the link.

2. Provide more info about your system, Ram, Video Card, etc.

3. Try WinFlip on a different computer, if possible.

4. Just have to ask if you click on Ok to apply the exclusion setings ?

5. Finally, try restarting WinFlip and see if the exclusion settings work. If possible, what are the applications you attempt to exclude ?

Hi there,

Here is the info you requested.

I have tried Winflip on 3 machines here now and have the same problem with all of them.

They all run XP SP2. RAM ranges from 1GB - 2GB.

The programs I try to exclude have been Opera, IE7, FireFox, Notepad++, Process Explorer, in fact too many to list. I was trying many different ones to see what the problem was but all programs I tried would not add to the list. I open the options window and select the "other" tab. There is a list of open windows. I click on one of them and than click "add to list". The button seems to be non responsive and nothing is added to the list. I select OK when done but as I said nothing is added to the list.

The unusual display is also present on all my machines and here is a couple screen shots for you.

I really don't plan on adding anything to the exclude list any ways but I may want to so I tried it and noticed the bug so I am reporting it. Other than that I really like this program. Amazing how light on RAM and CPU it is.

Hi Anthony A Smiley

Welcome to WinFlip MessageBoard!

Thank you for your polite bug report.
I'm not sure but I think it could be a bug. It seems your PC does not have any problem.
I'll check the source code again and if I found something I'll report here later.

Cheers,
Koji

@Roman Thanks for your follow-up report.
You and Amos are always polite and accuracy Wink

OK I have figured this out and it's a problem with the DPI setting. I have my machines set to 120 DPI not 96. I have had a few programs in the past that did not display properly with this setting but not many. Any ways I set my DPI to 96 and rebooted. Winflip's GUI now displays properly and the button to add programs to the exclusion list now works. Hope this helps.

Thank You
Anthony

as simple as that, 120 DPI did not allow to click on "Add to list".

Thank you for clarifying, for it is good to know what caused the problem.

Yes the 120 DPI setting messed up the Winflip GUI and button to add to the exclusion list was not working.

Yes, I got that, and I remember setting 120 DPI scale in my desktop long time ago. Then I wanted larger fonts and clearer vision with 1280 x 1024. All looked good at first, but then I started to notice exatly same as you report font misfits in many menus.

So, I set back to 96 DPI scale, and to enlarge system letters I went to Desktop > Right click > Properties > Appearance > Additional settings, where I adjusted various fonts sizes and other features in my system's appearance. In my opnion, this works better than setting to 120 DPI. Just my experience.  Undecided

Best regards.
