I got the above message when trying to start WinFlip. I installed the latest version of DirectX9 from the Microsoft website; still got the message. I have XPPro, SP3.

Don't know what up with that.

thanks

Paul

Hello pjdemmitt. First make sure no other application uses Direct3D api at that time and try to update your graphic card driver. Also please write what graphic card you have. I think the SP3 or DX9 shouldn't make this problem because I also have latest version of DX9.0c as well as SP3 and WFlip works normally, so i guess it must be driver problem. Also it is only winflip or other DX applications make this?

Hello,

I have the same problem. When I double click WinFlip.exe to install it, it says "Sorry! Direct 3D failed to initialize. For help, go to winflip.stylekings.de/board." Then I click "ok" then it says "Sorry! WinFlip failed to start, and will now close." My Graphics card is nVidia GeForce 2 MX 100/200, and I have DirectX 9. I have Windows XP SP3 Home Edition. Please help, thank you.

Hi RomanArmy. I think your problem might be caused by your graphic card. As far as I know GeForce 2MX doesn't have any pixel or vertex shader support as well as hardware t&l unit, so it cannot use all the features DirectX 9.0c has to offer.
I don't know how extensively WinFlip uses DX9 and whether missing shaders or T&L might be cause of your problem but koji the developer should know. Anyway it is a pretty old card, have you thought about upgrading it to a newer model?

P.S. I hope I'm wrong and it is just some driver issue.
