Hello - thanks for checking out the bug section of the WinFlip board. Before you report a bug, please check it's not already documented below. The mods will try to keep this up-to-date with all known bugs.

BugExplanationSolution/Notes
System hangsWinFlip crashes the system.See this post for detail on this bug.
Windows shown as blackWhen flipping, certain programs only show black inside the window (GIMP, OpenOffice, Pidgin, XChat)GTK+ bug, see this bug report.

Corrupted window's contentAfter flipping, a window may be shown up as blankSee the report
Problems with the
"Exclusion Settings"
list
The "Exclusion Settings" list may get corrupted so the
excluded windows are no longer being excluded from the flip list
See this post

"Sorry! Failed to save settings" messageThis message pops up on launching WinFlip from a READ-ONLY deviceLink

Tray iconWinFlip loses its tray icon when windows explorer crashes, and the icon stays in tray after WinFlip has crashed. Link

Direct3D display modeWinFlip may crash when an application or a game is running in Direct3D display mode. Link

Alphabet file is missingWinFlip does not start and shows the error message "Alphabet file is missing". To avoid this error message, extract WFlip.zip to a folder of your choice and then make sure you double click on the file "WinFlip.exe" which is located inside the folder to which you have extracted the archive. Do not launch "WinFlip.exe" directly from archivator ! 239.0

Texture quality & Anti-AliasingTo achieve quality graphics of flipped windows, you should set TQ=3 and AA=0, as certain video cards are limited by these values.Link

Mouse gestures do not start flipTo activate flip with a mouse gesture movement, a circle smaller than 300x300pixels box must be drawn within 1 second.Link

WinFlip requirementsTo run WinFlip, you will need Windows XP Service Pack 1 and DirectX 9c August 2004 or better. WinFlip is also compatible with XP SP 2, XP SP 3, and works with Windows Vista. But WinFlip does not work in Windows 2000 environment. Also, your video card is required to support Hardware Acceleration.Link

Windows orderFlip starts to the current window , which is not like the conventional Alt-Tab windows order. To have flip skip the foremost window, right-click WinFlip tray icon > Options > Others > Send the active window to the back when flipping.Link

Playing movies in flip modeMovies are shown wrong while flippingLink

Will add to this in due course. Thanks for reading.

Can be due to your video system. What is your video card brand ? You're welcome to attach your directx report (run > dxdiag).

Updating the video card driver and directx may help sometimes but unfortunately not always. WinFlip requires a video card to support DirectX, hardware acceleration, and to have more than 32 Mb of video ram. If your video card meets these parameters and if your video card driver is several years old, then you may want to try upgrading:

If you are upgrading your vga system, then install DirectX after upgrading the vga driver.

DirectX

Please note that before installing the new version of vga driver, first properly uninstall the current driver through Control Panel > Uninstall.

Frankly speaking, Hi-Tech too quickly becomes "Retro," while it does cost. Even if you're buying a pretty successful Core2 today, you're getting your system "Retro" initially because more advanced and expensive Core i7 is out. If you're buying a Quad SLI GTX system then don't waste your money, it's getting obsolete soon by the end of this year when DirectX 11 cards start. And so on.
