Hallo all.

First of all, this is a great program.

Second, when i want to use winflip and have World Of Warcraft running, winflip will crash. If it is possible, i would like to see WOW in winflip.

Even a possibility of making a screenshot would be nice (will put this question in other topic).

Best regards.

Roll Eyes   Hello Backbone, thank you for using WinFlip and welcome to the messageboard !

This is not unusual for the current version of WinFlip to crash  if flip is called when in 3D full screen, especially if the game's resolution differs from the desktop's.

Future versions of WinFlip will support Exceptions List feature, which will enable user to define processes not to include in the flip list. Feature to (auto-) disable WinFlip when full screen 3D is present will also be implemented in future versions.

For now:

- Try setting the same resolution on your desktop and in video game/window

- Try playing a 3D game in a different desktop, via NVIDIA/ATI Desktop Managers/MSVDS/Yod'm 3D/DeskSpace/Wirekeys/ or other utilities

- Do not activate flip when you are in the game, and do not select game window when you are flipping

You can see my screenshot of playing Half-Life 2 and flipping (click to enlarge)

Here Half-Life 2 full-screen resolution was the same as on my desktop.

As to screenshots, WinFlip is not for making them, so please refer to Amos and Koji's replies.

Our best regards,

Roman.

Hi batman, Amos, Koji,

Welcome to the messageboard, Batman,

read here, plz.

I've mislinked and I'm sorry, I meant to link right h e r e.

I do not have the warcraft 3 currently installed on my comp, but it works with some other games (Half Life, Myst V, 3D chess):

- setting the same resolution for the game and for the desktop allows me to flip while in the game, provided that the desktop's resolution hasn't been changed before running the game and WinFlip has initialized before starting the game.

Other options:

- do not flip as long as in the game
- exit WinFlip and restart it after the game

==== =====

Other similar to WinFlip software has the feature to disable itself when 3D full screen on, but occasionally it stays disabled forever. So, implementing the feature is not easy and requires time.

You almost need a list which will "Disable WinFlip" when application in that list is active. Full-screen mode is not a good indicator because you could be surfing the web in full-screen mode and actually want WinFlip to work. Other times when you are playing a game or watching a DVD in full-screen mode, you don't want WinFlip to work.

Hi senhaku,

Quote
Full-screen mode is not a good indicator because ...

by "full-screen mode" I imply "direct3d full screen mode", wikipedia,  Direct3D fullscreen instead of an application embedded in a window. The idea is that when direct3d display mode is detected, WinFlip will not start flip.

You need a list which will "Disable WinFlip" when application in that list is active.

This is a good idea not to start flip when the listed applications are running. It would exclude flip with certain processes more accurately than general detection of the direct3d would do, and it would be simpler to implement.

Thank you for the suggestion.
