Hi all,

I'm going to try to archive all feature suggestions in this post, so they're easy to find, and to check a feature hasn't been suggested before you post.

If you spot anything I missed out, edit this if you can, or PM me, or post here, or shout really loudly, or something.

Also, please note that this is not a 'to do' list, as such: although your suggestion may be in this list, there is no guarantee it will be implemented.

FEATUREEXPLANATIONTHREAD/S
Eyecandy-------------------------------
Enhance graphicsReflect windows; decrease bg opacity; allow for more fonts.129.594
Continously refresh all windowsWhilst flipping, allow users to choose to have all windows to update rather than just the formost window.94.431
Utilise desktop spaceMake full use of space on desktop by spacing windows out a little more whilst flipping, if there is room.116.522
59.238
Add new flip functionsAdd functions that do more than Flip3D does - for example, imitate Apple's Exposé and Compiz Fusion's Shift Switcher.8.18
50.178
Show window titlesAllow users to toggle showing the title of the front window somewhere onscreen.59.238
Monitor wallpaperMonitor the desktop wallpaper and update it in WinFlip if it is changed.59.238
'Hide Tray Icon' optionAllow the system tray icon to be hidden by default (possibly add a shortcut to the options within flipping mode?)141.659
Keyboard/Mouse-------------------------------
Mouse hover brings focusDraw window under cursor on top of other windows whilst flipping, and add glowing border.132.603
Clicking on desktop edgeStart flip when the mouse left button is pressed down on a desktop edge, but not when it is released.292.0
Simultaneous trigger and hotkeyAllow user to use 'Switch and Flip' and 'Switch Only' simultaneously, rather than forcing one or the other.130.599
112.506
Better hotkeysGive the user more freedom when choosing hotkeys - let them use combinations of Ctrl, Alt, Tab and Space.72.315
59.238
Hotkeys whilst flippingGive users the ability to assign certain buttons to certain functions, such as minimize window, close window and cancel, whilst flipping.59.238
Ctrl-Alt-Del forced closureEnsure Ctrl-Alt-Del and Ctrl-Shift-Esc cancel flip mode.59.238
Permanent alphabetAllow user to choose to assign certain letters to certain processes, and allow automatic permanent letter assignment, as options.80.364
Cutsomise mouse flipAllow users to choose their own mouse input to begin flipping rather than forcing use of the middle button; especially useful for 'gaming' mice and other mice with additional keys.283.1382
Core Additions-------------------------------
Show title or icon for select windowsAllow users to choose to show an icon of their choice, or just the window title, for programs in a list. This might be useful for programs that do not render properly in WinFlip (GTK+ apps, video, etc).207.941
Optional window orderAllow users to choose between ordering windows as they are in the taskbar or sorted by recently-used.116.522
Disable with 3D fullscreenGive option not to flip using mouse, or not at all, whilst a 3D application is full-screen.69.297
59.238
Compatible with WVBMake WinFlip fully stable and compatible for Windows Vista Basic. News: WinFlip, whilst still not supported officially, should now work with Vista.82.378
Multiple monitor supportWhen flipping with multiple monitors, allow a click anywhere on the inactive screen to select the foremost window.26.74
Child window optionGive users the option to exclude child windows whilst flipping.66.272
Tighten IntegrationMake WinFlip more tightly integrated: run it as a service so that WinFlip starts itself automatically on startup and restarts itself when it crashes.141.659
Higher PriorityGive WinFlip higher process priority automatically.185.823
Miscellaneous-------------------------------
Make WinFlip open-sourceRelease the project source for others to study and use as they wish.95.433
Limit FPSDon't allow WinFlip's frame rate to run wild.165.745
Provide an executable or a shortcut to show/hide WinFlip optionsAdd an option to show/hide the tray icon.241.0

I've tried to put every suggestion in the list. If there are loads of posts suggesting the same feature, I might not have linked to all of them. If you do notice I've missed any, feel free to point it out.

Hey wait a minute, shouldn't there be a 'bugs list' sticky thread in the bugs section too?

Far easier said than done - this took me ages to pull together. However, if you want to, no-one's stopping you! Wink

I've updated this, deleting features that have been implemented in 0.50 and adding this request.

How about use program while flipping?

How exactly do you see this feature, to use program while flipping ... what program and how ?

If you mean being able to interact with the foremost flipped window - great, but then the question is how to share key presses between WinFlip and the interacted window ?

Sounds a little like duh to pause flipping with F8: you can leave your keyboard and mouse alone and it will do. Besides, what if someone uses F8 for another kind of action (e.g to Flip or to invoke MF), or what if one's keyboard doesn't have the F8 key at all? Perhaps it would be more rational to make it customizale then.
